The Beauty of a Plug-In Chandelier
At first blush, it may not make sense why a plug-in chandelier should exist or why you might want one, and it may surprise you even further to find that it all comes down to versatility.

Chandeliers aren’t always the first fixtures that come to mind when we think about versatile lighting. As lighting centerpieces, we typically have very specific ideas about how we want our chandeliers to look and where we want them to be.

But, there are at least three reasons why plug-in chandeliers excel in the versatility department.

1. When a preexisting electrical hookup is … nonexistent.

Lighting fixtures are a lot easier to install when you’re replacing a preexisting fixture, but sometimes that’s not an option. And, sometimes the kind of light you’d like to hang is a chandelier.

Enter the plug-in chandelier. Thanks to this little wonder, now you don’t have to cut into your home’s cables to create a new junction or run cable to where you want your chandelier to hang. That makes it possible to put a chandelier almost anywhere – as long as your extension cord is long enough.

2. When you want a chandelier without all the wiring fuss.

Newsflash: People who like chandeliers aren’t always electricians. Of course, a person can hire an electrician, but this is a brave new DIY world and if there’s an easier (or cheaper) path around a roadblock we want to know about it.

That’s not to say a plug-in chandelier is better than any other chandelier. Each type has its benefits and one of them on the plug-in side is dealing with far less – as in zero – exposed wires.

3. When you want a chandelier that’s easy to relocate.

It may not occur to you that you would ever want to relocate a chandelier, but that may be because of the inherent difficulty involved. Now, what if that difficulty were removed?

Plug-in chandeliers are obviously much easier to relocate than their hardwired cousins and this is an attractive quality for people in the know about plug-in lighting options. This is especially true if you’re “swagging” a chandelier – hanging it off to the side of its mount by a hook.

Of course, there could be many other benefits to having a plug-in chandelier that are particular to your living space, and if you can think of any more we’d love to know!
