3 Brilliant Blender Recipes

Here are three, just to name a few: <strong>1. Milkshakes</strong> Seriously, let’s forget about the smoothie movement for a sec and get back to what blenders were made for. Here’s what you’ll need: <ul> <li>Ice cream  (4-6 scoops)</li> <li>Milk (1 1/2 cups, depending on your preferred thickness)</li> <li>Syrup (chocolate, strawberry, caramel – you choose!)</li> </ul> That’s it. Hit the “GO” button and watch the magic happen. Pro Tip: If you’re making a chocolate milkshake and you want a malted version, add a couple tablespoons of Carnation malt mix. <strong>2. Bushwhackers</strong> This is a Florida panhandle favorite that doesn’t get much press outside the Gulf zone. Here’s your ingredients list: <ul> <li>Ice (4 cups, for extra thickness)</li> <li>Milk (4 oz.)</li> <li>Cream of coconut (4 oz.)</li> <li>Kahlua (2 oz.)</li> <li>Bacardi 151 (2 oz., divided)</li> <li>Dark Crème de Cacao (1 oz.)</li> </ul> Put everything in the blender save for one ounce of the rum. Blend it up and then pour into glasses. To "garnish," top each drink with a floater of the rum and watch your friends’ heads explode in ecstasy. <strong>3. Smoothies</strong> Well, you knew it was coming. Admittedly, smoothies can be very tasty, and here’s a shocker – you don’t <em>have</em> to put weird vegetables in there that make them taste like the bottom of a farmer’s boot. Try this instead: <ul> <li>Vanilla ice cream (2 scoops)</li> <li>Plain yogurt (8 oz.)</li> <li>Milk (1/2 cup)</li> <li>Frozen strawberries (2 cups)</li> <li>Frozen banana (1, chopped)</li> <li>Vanilla extract (1 tsp.)</li> </ul> Pour everything into the blender, blend it and then pour it out.
